Job Summary:
Our client, Nish Auto Ltd, the leading sole importer and distributor of Bajaj two and four-wheelers in Uganda, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join its dynamic finance team. The Accountant will work closely with management to support decision-making, optimize cash flow, and maintain the financial integrity of this fast-growing automotive enterprise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting through efficient forecasting and detailed analysis across the company with budget holders.
• Take lead on all internal and external reporting, alongside the Head of Finance while ensuring completeness, accuracy and validity in preparing statutory and management accounts.
• Review ledgers and ensure that transactions are posted in the system accurately and timely.
• Review and take lead on all reconciliations including Bank, Cash, Payables, Receivables and Inventory, with the respective Accounting Officers.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and drive timely remediation of audit findings with cross-functional teams.
• Support the Head of Finance in strategic financial planning for the Company.
• Support all costing, pricing and data analysis for reporting.
• Drive strong financial controls across the Company.
• Monitor financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control.
• Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure minimization and compliance.
• Support in the process of debt collection to ensure that the Company makes timely recoveries that have an impact on working capital.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
• Professional Accountancy qualification i.e., ACCA, CPA.
• 3-5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Financial reporting
• Knowledge of Finance & Accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP systems (Tally, MS Business One, Dynamics 365) is an added advantage
• Enterprise Risk Management awareness
• Computer literacy; Advanced presentation and excel skills, proficient user of other MS applications.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Keen attention to details and high level of accuracy
• Methodical working style and can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Time management, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proactive, self-starter attitude and accountability
