Job Summary:
We are hiring motivated and result oriented Chinese Translators to join our client’s team. As a Translator, you will play a key role in accurately translating written documents and/ or spoken content from Chinese to English and vice versa by ensuring meaning and context are preserved.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer verbal interpretation during meetings, conference calls, factory visits, and training sessions involving Chinese and Ugandan staff.
- Translate technical documents, SOP’s, company policies from English to Chinese and vice versa.
- Assist in the onboarding and day-to-day support of Chinese expatriates, technicians, or visitors.
- Read through or listen to material, ascertain understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and convert it into the required language, making sure to preserve the original meaning
- Translates online and video by providing subtitles
- Consult with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriately.
- Refers to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation
- Translates a variety of documents including literary, legal, research, technical, scientific, educational, and commercial materials
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.
- Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role
- Written and Verbal Communication
- Understanding of Grammar
- Interpersonal Communication
- Attention to Detail
- Fluency in Chinese and English
