Job Summary
Our Client Federation of Fisheries Organizations Uganda (FFOU) is seeking a talented Grants Officer to join FFOU team and lead our efforts in securing and managing crucial funding sources. Federation of Fisheries Organisations Uganda (FFOU) is a registered Non-profit making Organisation national umbrella body for all non-state actors in the Fisheries Sub sector, currently working with 131 member Associations/Organizations which brings together all the Fishing Communities across the five great lakes of: Victoria, Kyoga, Albert, George, Edward and the surrounding districts in Uganda. FFOU was subsequently conceived as a loose coalition to steer involvement of the fisheries sector players in addressing the issues directly affecting the poor and marginalized groups, with key strategic areas of Human Rights, Policy, Health, Capacity Building, ICT and Climate change would like to hire Grants Manager. The suitable candidate should have passion for securing funding to drive impactful change. The incumbent should be well experienced in grant management with diverse skills to work in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Proactively identify, pursue, and secure funding opportunities to support the organization’s mission and projects.
• Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, from proposal development to final reporting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and effective use of funds.
• Provide training and support to colleagues on grant writing and management best practices, helping build a sustainable grants culture within the organization.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, foundations, and other funding entities to ensure continuous support and collaboration.
• Continuously research potential funding sources and stay updated on new funding trends, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• A proven track record in grant writing, management, or a related field, with experience in securing substantial funding.
• Ability to craft compelling narratives for proposals and interact confidently with funders and partners.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple grants and deadlines, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Skilled in planning, coordinating, and overseeing various grant processes to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Ability to analyze grant requirements and funding trends, with a strategic mindset to align funding opportunities with organizational needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software; familiarity with budget management tools and financial reporting.
• Ability to work effectively across departments, supporting program staff with grant compliance, reporting, and budgeting.
